a word game

Perfect words

Some words can be drawn inside one square without lifting the pen, each letter starting where the last one stopped. Those are perfect. Type one and watch.

How the game works

Every letter lives in a square and connects two spots on it, usually corners. A word is perfect when you can draw all its letters in a row, with each letter beginning exactly where the previous one ended, so the whole word is one unbroken trip around the square.

The alphabet is slightly modified so each letter is a single stroke: A is a peak with no crossbar, E has no middle line, and a few letters (B, D, O, Q) just touch a spot and return to it. The option letters (T, Y, H, X) draw as their full shapes. When a word isn't perfect, Generate anyway splits it into the fewest squares that each connect.
